Well, practices for performers going as planned. ;-) short of that is, seems normal to me, some hurdles some other things but normal or near.
We lost a few members, health or money issues. One guitar and one drummer. That leaves 8 and I might have added a sax player. No word on a confirm on that but that would be very welcomed if we did have a sax in the mix for the live event. Think Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon type. That would be the sound I would want floating in and out.
Just a few more practices left. I made up drum tracks to fill the hole already. Several short combinations. I have been told by those who listen and played to them, NIN'ish. Not sure if that is a good or bad thing. I do like some of the work from NIN. So I am not surprised at the comments from those who have heard these things.
The opening track will be near 30 to 31 minutes in time. The most heavy use of the drum tracks I made up are found there, about 26 ~ minutes worth. The rest will be a bit more sparse.
These are not normal tracks or loops in anyway, something I sampled off my kits and others kits over the years. When forced to do the job of a drummer, I can reach in to my bag of tricks and magic, pulling out some things I often play to real drummer to do live for me. But, such it is.
I'll update again in a few days or so. Not much really to say.
Lorraine is about to start shooting her western film, so I also find myself running camera these days too. I should say, camera, sound and something just short of directing. The things I find myself in .... but she is my wife and her eye sight is fading so it's a goal she wants to do, I better lend a hand in where I can.
