Well, gig was a gig. I wound up with 1 pedal steel, 2 guitar, 1 Keyboard/percussion, 1 Percussion and 2 synth types, including me. 7 total on stage.
I wound up, building the stage, hauling down 98% of all the gear, doing all the sound and performing ... my camera crew, took other jobs so I wound up training on the spot a few who showed up that knew how to spell camera ... well they both do some camera work in other area so this was a not familar thing for them ... and
well, everyone who did show up, said they liked it. we did not play as long due to me having to all the effort, we was a bit late in starting ... lights was in place, we had fog problems, in my mind anyway as I though it a tad more and the timer on it did not behave like I wanted. The 2 camera videos (it was going to be 3 but I had to settle on who I could find) shows everyone else pretty good ... but
it was my gig, my band .. who was left out? me ... for some reason, since I was doing all the work, they (camera people) got it in their heads, I was not that important ... being the band leader and all it was not in their mind to put me to the film other than a few times ... one of the camera people, seems to me, like the pretty girl better since she was shaken a rain stick like thing more .... or the other synths and so on ... I did talk to them and explained what I was after and wanted but guess what? my communication skills are lacking as it seems ...
so yes, I been stewing on this a bit ... I can bring a pot of water to a boil by just looking at it ...
this is about as much as I typed in any of the social sites, groups or other places ... I am just starting to get over it .... not to mention accept the blame, lighter wallet and so on ....
Hey it is true ... it falls on my head for everything that happens to my band ...
music, I used a DAT, a H4N in this case, I listened to it, sounds workable but some just had to seek out my mikes and do a bit of chit chat into them while we was playing ...
*************** I do not even want to type about it really ... my wife just looks at me as you can see her fine playing key key and precussion stuff .... the pedal steel, great shots ... the guitar players .. and so on.... Doug Moon, orginal guitar player for Captain Beefheart, some great shots there on him ... ... just amazed how I got left out ... seldom seen ... .....

Next live gig, well there is a roller coaster right now ...
Last week, it was determined and I thought a done deal, we was going to do a music video on a closed set in a almost 2 million dollar house that over looks the saucer base....
I call Edwards AFB and Mirage AFB .. saucer bases ... this place over looks the whole Antelope Valley area from about 4, 000 feet. I posted in a few other places it was higher but I got the right attitude from the owner. Also the place is haunted. A guitar player came home one day and found his wife and ... well you get it, he did them both in. It is a well know place in the Antelope Valley area. The guy who ownes it now, has never lived in it. He has owned it for about 13 years. He has put in all new stuff inside etc. It's for sale now ...
So it came into my use due to a film my wife is working on, which I just got off two 20 hour days on this same film .... I would up doing sound and camera on it ... another story for another day ...
anyway .. it now turns out we might not be able to use it for the music video ... he is trying to rent it/sale it now and it might be a confilct ...
the plan was, we record in studio (which I have not put back together yet since the gig due to time and my general attitude on what I saw in the camera films ...) ok, so I am a bit depressed on it ... record the music in studio and then stage a filming at the house ... a closed set so to speak ... I'll let everyone know in a few weeks what will happen ...
my ears are hurting from the sound, people screaming "quite on the set", the clap board and ... I am in trama right now ... then camera types not showing or late ... yea, I do it all ....
even set arrangeing, lighting and ... heck I even got a small part in it ... I wonder if my wife will find that part on the cutting room floor too for me ...
I posted somewhere, myspace I think, Roddney Dangerfield, we seem to have a lot in common lately ...
no fear, I will get over it ...
