Biography
Born in LA, Scott was drawn to music upon watching the Beatles first appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show at age eight in 1964.
Ten years later, he would become a gifted multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, developing a passion for songwriting, closely studying the craft of his favorites.
Mentored in the mid-70's by prominent songwriters, Maury Manseau, John Bettis, and hit singer/songwriter Alan O'Day, Scott was encouraged by O'Day to
move back to his native L.A. (from San Diego State film school), becoming a young successful songwriter, with songs recorded by multi-platinum artists before he turned twenty-four. He would then collaborate with hit songwriter Sharon Sheeley (Eddie Cochran's girlfriend/fiance) from the late seventies through the eighties. During this period, Scott would become a highly regarded session vocalist & multi-instrumentalist, and touring musician until his thirties.

Having become a proficient recording engineer after well over a decade in music studios (also an audio editor with TV host Jenny Jones, & recordist for singer/dancer Gene Kelly) and facing the welcome reality of a blossoming family, Scott began his thirties by taking the studio home, expanding his creativity into composing film scores, music directing parodies for KLOS's Mark & Brian, producing solo artists as Rosie Vela of A&M Records (formerly produced by Steeley Dan's Gary Katz), and composing original music for theatrical performances at The Comedy Store, The Hollywood Playhouse, The LA Cabaret, and Hollywood award shows.

Though keeping his hand in the music industry, in 1993, Scott began a successful career as a union art director, construction coordinator, and licensed special effects pyrotechnics operator for the Hollywood studios on films/television shows as “Volcano”, “Godzilla”, “Contact”, “Bubble Boy”, “The Majestic”, and numerous others, until a work-related accident resulted in a severe spinal fracture, and near loss of his legs while working on the HBO series “Deadwood” in 2005.
Following years of multiple multi-level spinal fusion surgeries, he recovered the majority of strength in his legs in 2009, and returned to the realm of film full time.

Scott is married to Elaine Black MacLachlan, who worked at Atlantic Records, and was assistant to Geffen A & R guru John Kalodner:John Kalodner through the 80’s before moving to Warner Bros. Records, then Disney’s Hollywood Records. They have three adult children.

Activities and Societies:
Former member of IATSE's Art Director's Guild, and I.A.T.S.E. Local 44 Construction Coordinator's Association (w/ Pyrotechnics card & 35 year NAUI Scuba cert.) for the major Hollywood studios.
A.A. Degreed in Radio & Television production, transferring to film school at San Diego State.

Your music is brilliant, absolutely. .brilliant . . When I grow Up and have the money for quality mastering, I look forward to receiving more music ideas from my creator (at 2:00 in the morning) and continue to be it's instrument.

Scott,

Nice work man! Really dig the lydian resolution at the end of the American Civil War title cue. Nice variety of styles. Is the Dyna Chopper Under written for a two-wheeled friend?
