Biography

Gemini nominated composer Dave Klotz has worked in almost every creative facet of the music business.

He is a graduate of the York University music program, where he received a BFA degree with honors, specializing in ethnomusicology, composition and avant-garde electronic music. He is credited for composition in film, television, and dance choreography, for clients spanning from Toronto, to Los Angeles and Hong Kong.

Dave is an experienced audio engineer and producer, working in the past with a variety of musical groups, in a variety of styles and genres. In the past, he has had the pleasure of working with some of the best producers in the business, including Andy Johns, Thom Panunzio and Dave Schiffman.

Dave has provided orchestral arrangements on a variety of projects, toured extensively in North America and Europe as a professional keyboardist, and has appeared on a variety of albums.

Founded in 2000, nSpaas Production (Pronounced "en-space") is the vehicle by which Dave performs his craft.

Dave is a very versatile composer, with a broad range of influences and styles. A strong background in both western world genres and ethnomusicology, allows Dave to fulfill any score requirement. Dave is a sensitive, emotive composer with a knack for both supporting and emphasising the energy shifts of visual medium. Musical Direction / Production / Mix / Audio Engineering

Dave is comfortable on any platform, (analog or digital), in any capacity, in almost any style. He has served as a musical director, composer, producer, engineer and performer on audio, video and multimedia projects, in studios in both Toronto and Los Angeles.

Orchestral Arrangements

Dave has provided orchestral arrangements for various pop and rock projects over the years. Working with high-tech orchestral libraries, Dave has the knack of creating realistic arrangements that add a sense of depth and color to a song, but without overpowering it. His most recent arrangement clients include the bands Godsmack, and Hurt.

Remixing

Dave's remixing style is somewhat different than most. Rather than strictly producing dance club tracks, Dave's remixes are more along the lines of radio friendly alternative mixes, offering a fresh perspective to a song.
