What do you do or how to get your Music into Film, TV and Commercials

I thought I start a thread on this. I think this would be one of those amazing educating topics.

(I had to skip the top 10, I listen to so much stuff)
(the reference list was cool but I do not think I have anything new there to post either)

Great topic.

network and talk to as many film producers, film students and industry people you can. We have several members here who would be a great start to network with. the 'director/producer' group here is the place where they should be listed. I will send out a note to everyone asking any film folks to sign up to that group so they can easily be found.

Thanks for the post.

You can also do an advanced search and check the producers or director box and search.

Should you really make a pest of yourself? Often I feel like a big pest when I add, email or otherwise hit on the head, someone who is a producer or director. I know, it's the squeaky wheel that gets heard but I often think a more passive plan of action might be in order. Wrong thoughts there?

I've been using the passive plan lately, but in the past I've gone to film producer forums. I've also gone to...i think it was a 'music jobs' section of myspace...that's where i found the cartoonist/animator who made the video for "Escape." I also found a director on youtube who I've been keeping in contact with. It's nothing big time, but it's a start. Like Ray said, your best bet is to network as much as possible. This site seems like a good place for this kind of thing. And I don't think you need to be a pest to network. Adding someone and leaving them a comment is a good thing! What I wouldn't do is email someone out of the blue asking them to use my music for their projects. Hope this helps.
