Do you have a film, television or game production that needs a composer, sound-designer or engineer?

Please have a look around the site. We have many
talented composers, sound-designers, voice-over artists, engineers and even indie bands. IMP is an invitation only site so that we can keep the quality of music at the highest level. If you have any questions whatsoever, Robert Waddington and myself are familiar with all of the musicians on the site and we will be happy to help you find exactly what you're looking for. Just send either of us an email with a description of the production and your needs and we will get back to you asap.

Thanks, Jim Hughes

Our Mission Statement

Today, more than ever, the film and entertainment industry is changing. Film producers are trying to keep costs down yet maintain the quality of music and use of cutting edge technology. More and more of them are turning to independent bands and composers to try and stay away from the steep sync and licensing fees of the "big label" artists. The internet and the advent of digital technology has been a tremendous resource to this end.

There are quite a few organizations today who claim to be acting in the best interests of artists but fall short, going back to the days when artists got nothing for their creative work, while their labels and managers made all the money. Beyond the frustrations these organizations thrust on the artist, they also rob the artist of valuable time and even more valuable creative energy. Why can't the composers and musicians have a more personal relationship with the film-makers? A film contains two main elements, video and audio, so why isn't there a network for both film makers and music makers?

Independent Media Pros (IMP) was created to enhance the collaborative relationship between the directors and the composers, bands, and sound-designers. Our goal is to support independent artists as well as provide a complete scoring service for any film project. By providing the artist with the best possible exposure to real opportunities and helping the artist connect with other professionals, IMP hopes to create an environment and culture that provides the producer with the best of talent and gives the artist what they deserve. We do not claim to know everything about the business, but we hope you will join us in building a media community with the knowledge and talent necessary to tackle any project.

IMP has a vested interest in showing respect to the artist, because IMP is run by artists. Please let us know if you have any suggestions for the site.
